Manila, Philippines -- Jardine Schindler Philippines officially launched its latest PORT Technology-enabled destination elevator installation at Daiichi Properties’ The Finance Centre in Bonifacio Global City this February.
Schindler Philippines has 25 years of technical expertise in the local industry. It has strategic offices located in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Angeles and Iloilo, serving the needs of Philippine companies for world-class elevators and escalators. It prides itself with its Personal Occupant Requirement Terminal (PORT) Technology which helps provide tenants with a new and enhanced elevator and escalator service experience.
The PORT Technology only requires the identity or destination of a passenger to access a PORT Terminal. It takes care of planning and executing a seamless journey using an optimal route designed to take the shortest possible time to complete. Through this process, not only does it provide an innovative elevator experience but is also raising the security level of an establishment by limiting access to other floors or destinations.
Schindler Philippines continued its partnership with Daiichi Properties in providing its PORT Technology elevator service to the award-winning building, The Finance Centre. This premium-grade office tower is the second of the leading developer’s building to be installed with the PORT Technology elevator system. Prior to The Finance Centre, Schindler also provided its elevator service to another Daiichi Properties award-winning building, World Plaza, which is also in Bonifacio Global City in 2017.
Raising the benchmark for Philippine real estate, Daiichi Properties has been creating innovative office and residential buildings in Ortigas and BGC. The firm is committed to developing buildings that are sustainable and environmentally-friendly, and are ensured to be earthquake and typhoon-ready. It also uses state-of-the-art technologies and innovations to reduce energy consumption and boost savings.
With Daiichi Properties’ strong commitment to developing green and sustainable buildings, Schindler’s PORT Technology meets today’s environmental challenges by managing the trips made by the 42-storey building’s elevators so that passengers are transported in the most efficient manner possible. Further, the equipment has been designed to use a reduced level of power consistent with the many features it provides. Schindler is committed to advancing PORT Technology to minimize total building energy consumption while ensuring that the energy that is used provides the optimum environment for its tenants.
“Daiichi Properties’ The Finance Centre is strategically located at the heart of BGC and has targeted key and high profile, tenants. In addition, their focus on sustainability and advanced technologies and innovation clearly provide them a competitive edge. With Schindler’s PORT Technology, they have the potential to remove many of the existing constraints on interior layouts, thereby allowing architects greater creative freedom when designing the next generation of buildings. Buildings of the future like The Finance Centre will provide the truly differentiated service level essential to successfully attracting tenants in today’s highly competitive commercial real estate market,” said Peter Schwarer, Managing Director, Jardine Schindler Philippines.
Daiichi Properties’ The Finance Centre is an award-winning development, earning the Five-Star Best Office Development-Philippines in the 2016-17 Asia Pacific Property Awards. It is also LEED pre-certified Gold and is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) as an IT ecozone.

Samsung Galaxy S10 features
Maximized Infinity-O Display: the future of viewing
Sporting minimized bezels, a wider 19:9 screen-body ratio, and a punch-hole display for the front camera, the Galaxy S10 maximizes the screen real estate without any distractions. The Infinity-O Display comes in three variants: a 5.8-inch display for the Galaxy S10e, a 6.1-inch display for the Galaxy S10, and a 6.4-inch display for the Galaxy S10+.
The Galaxy S10 also has the world’s first Dynamic AMOLED Display, delivering amazing visibility and vivid visuals under any lighting condition. As the first HDR 10+ certified device with Dynamic Tone Mapping, the Galaxy S10 generates a wider and more accurate range of colors, even in the darkest of scenes. The screen remains pleasing to the eyes, as the smartphone already reduces blue light emissions by 41% even before activating the Blue Light Filter.
Perfectly capture any moment with the True Vision Multi-Camera
The Galaxy S10’s True Vision Multi-Camera combines a full array of lenses in one powerful device. The Galaxy S10e has a dual camera set-up, utilizing a 12 MP Wide Dual Aperture Lens and a 16MP Ultra-Wide Lens -- a first for the S series. The Galaxy S10+ and the S10 sport three rear cameras, adding the 12 MP Telephoto lens for zoom.
The triple camera set-up of the Galaxy S10 & S10+ lets users easily switch shooting modes, from telephoto (2x optical zoom), to Wide (77°) and Ultra-Wide (123°), perfect for capturing detailed close-up portraits and epic panorama shots. Both the S10e and S10 carry a 10 MP Dual Pixel UHD Selfie front camera, while the Galaxy S10+ adds another 8 MP Camera for artistic Live Focus selfies and UHD videos. Powered by upgraded AI, the Galaxy S10 automatically adjusts its settings based on the scenes being captured, and can even suggest composition recommendations to frame the shot beautifully.
The Galaxy S10 also functions as a Pro Camcorder, offering Super Steady & High-Quality Video Recording. This allows users to take dynamic action videos with minimal shakiness. Both front and rear cameras can shoot in up-to UHD quality, and in an industry first, the rear camera provides the flexibility to record in HDR10+.
Making the most out of the Galaxy S10 with Intelligent Performance
Ensuring maximum phone security, the Galaxy S10 & Galaxy S10+ use the first-ever embedded Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that reads the 3D contours of a physical thumbprint – not a 2D image of it – for improved anti-spoofing. The feature detects every unique nuance of a fingerprint, even with changes in humidity, sunlight, or ambient temperature, offering vault-like security to keep the device safe.
Operating faster than ever, the Galaxy S10 delivers efficient and seamless user experience with an 8nm mobile chipset. Engineered for the best possible performance, the flagship phone’s hardware increases CPU & GPU performance while reducing power consumption. This allows the device to launch frequently used applications and games smoothly.
The Galaxy S10 also offers the largest storage capacity available on a Galaxy device, with 1TB of built-in storage expandable up to 1.5TB on the limited-edition Galaxy S10+ variant. The base models of the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 carry 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the Galaxy S10e supports 6GB RAM and internal memory of 128GB.
Built to adjust to its users’ needs, the Galaxy S10 automatically optimizes battery, CPU, RAM, and even device temperature based on how the smartphone is used. It also sports a wider battery capacity than the previous Galaxy variants: 4,100 mAh for the Galaxy S10+, 3,400 mAh for the Galaxy S10, and 3,100 mAh for the Galaxy S10e.
Next Generation Wireless PowerShare for more possibilities
Samsung also introduces the Wireless PowerShare feature on the Galaxy S10, allowing the charging of Qi-certified smartphones by simply placing them against the flagship smartphone. As an industry-first, the Galaxy S10’s Wireless PowerShare will also charge compatible wearables, such as the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds. This allows on-the-go users to avoid the hassle of looking for sockets to charge their devices.
In addition, the Galaxy S10 is capable of charging itself and a second device simultaneously via Wireless PowerShare, while connected to just one regular charger. One can save time by powering up multiple gadgets in one go, allowing users to tackle their day with fully-charged devices.

Selena Marie will showcase her musical talents at Six Doors 3D BBQ Buffet in BGC Uptown Mall on March 2, 16, and 30. The show starts at 7pm.
Dubbed as the Ukulele Girl, Selena emerged into the limelight when she sang Can’t Help Falling in Love while playing the ukulele during the blind audition of The Voice Teens Philippines. Now, she has thousands of subscribers on her YouTube channel and commands large followings on Facebook and Instagram.
Selena loves composing her own songs. “I don’t have any specific ritual but I only write my songs when my emotions are at its peak. I also make sure that my mind is clear from any other thoughts because I like a peaceful atmosphere when I compose. It’s mostly just me, a pen and notebook, and either my guitar or ukulele.”
Selena admires Yeng Constantino, Sarah Geronimo, Moira dela Torre, Kyla, Juris, Sitti Navarro, and KZ Tandingan. “I love foreign artists as well but I guess I’m really a sucker for OPM songs.”
The future looks bright for the young online star who recently signed a recording contract with PolyEast Records.
“As an artist, I’m looking forward to bigger things to happen, especially when it comes to my original compositions. Aside from inspiring other people and touching hearts with my music, I want to have that one song that will be in the hearts of Filipinos for decades. I want to write more songs that people can relate to in their everyday lives.”
Joining Selena onstage at Six Doors is Mac Murillo who is part of the digital team of AAAI. Mac has had stints as an acoustic singer before working with AAAI, and staged regular gigs at The 70s Bistro and 12 Monkeys. He is also an active YouTuber.
