5 most breathtaking Baguio sites showcased on The Broken Marriage Vow

Keep up with all the raging drama with Viu Premium powered by PLDT Home!

The log houses we all wish our parents own plus Baguio’s pine trees and gorgeous mountain views fill the backdrop of the emotional roller coaster hit drama series that is The Broken Marriage Vow.

Almost every episode lands on the trending pages of social media platforms. The show has become so popular it’s now one of the top titles on the streaming platform Viu, made cheaper and more accessible through a Viu Premium account powered by PLDT Home.

The marriage of Dr. Jill Victorino (Jodi Sta. Maria) and David Ilustre (Zanjoe Marudo) may have crumbled because of his affair with Lexy Lucero (Sue Ramirez). Yet, as we’re watching the frustrating and heartbreaking moments, we can’t help but think, “Tara, let’s go to Baguio!”

Beyond the riveting drama, we also find ourselves captivated by the sights all found within our Summer Capital. Raring to travel again? Here are a few of the series’ most iconic filming locations you, too, can visit while channeling your inner drama heroine!

Burnham Park

Located in downtown Baguio, Burnham Park is the city’s most famous park. Here, you can go boating on colorful swan boats, people-watch by the lake, even ride a bike. If you’re Dr. Jill, however, the park designed by Daniel Burnham may just be the perfect place for you to take a walk to clear your mind — and maybe plan your revenge — after discovering your husband is into some monkey business.

Camp John Hay

Surrounded by pine trees, fresh air, and the most amazing log cabins, Camp John Hay is a no-brainer must-visit for anyone visiting Baguio. To really complete the healing nature-filled experience, go enjoy the green scene and have a meal in Chef Billie King’s Le Chef Restaurant at the Manor.

Camp John Hay is more than just a sanctuary for our The Broken Marriage Vow family — in fact, it’s where most of the drama goes down.

White House of the Lord of Scents

In real life, the White House of the Lord of Scents is the abode of fragrance mogul Joel Cruz in Camp John Hay. While not a public tourist destination, it has become an attraction of its own because of its signature floor-to-ceiling windows that highlight its sweeping spiral staircase.

This is also where the show’s most iconic scene (colloquially called the batukan scene) happens. Knowing her husband is cheating with the daughter of the wealthy Luceros, Jill decides to invite themselves to dinner at the Lucero house for a grand confrontation.

Baguio Country Club

This is where Lexy Lucero’s parents often meet Jill — either as friends hanging out over lunch or in later episodes as enemies trading barbs as they are too civilized to go at each other’s throats.

The famous 117-year-old landmark isn’t just home to the best raisin bread and banana bread in the country, it also offers some of Baguio's most breathtaking views!

Kennon Road

While definitely picturesque, Kennon Road is also among the country’s most hazardous thoroughfares. Cliffs bracket the narrow road, making for a very steep fall if one is not careful. The tragedy snaking through this beauty fits the outwardly perfect Ilustre family finally succumbing to its own troubles.

In a scene shot along Kennon Road, Gio confronts his mother for not having time for him while Jill tries to console him. Jill soon realizes the gravity of the situation, now taking a toll on her conflicted child. It’s a raw moment that zooms in on children often becoming the biggest victims of a broken family.

We live for the nonstop scandal and drama of The Broken Marriage Vow, but we also find comfort in how directors Connie Macatuno and Andoy Ranay handle touchier subjects on the show.

Entertainment made better (and cheaper) at home!

See the drama on The Broken Marriage Vow unfold further in Baguio’s sights to behold — through a Viu Premium access powered by PLDT Home’s fastest and most reliable connections! Enjoy more of the hottest Asian content with no ads and same-day subtitled releases for select titles at just P80/month, the cheapest in the Philippines and already charged to your account!

How you can help advance your child's IQ and EQ with DHA and MFGM Pro

A child’s chance for future success relies not just on harnessing the IQ. It is also very much dependent on making sure his or her EQ is equally developed. EQ is the ability to understand, use, and manage one’s own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. It is how a child is able to keep calm when a favorite toy is lost or when he or she can’t figure out the answer to what 8+5 is. It is how a child is able to get along with other kids while in play or in school. It is how he or she is able to manage frustration without throwing a tantrum. Completing your child’s EQ to have these attitudes will help set them up for success in the future.

With recent studies that point to the importance of EQ as part of a child’s holistic growth, moms who have been focusing on IQ are now nurturing the EQ abilities of their kids. Apart from concentrating on their kids’ mental strength in the areas of logic, memory and language, moms have also started to hone their kids’ confidence, behavioral regulation and independence. That’s because moms now know that if they don’t enhance their kids’ EQ, a child is basically #MissingHalf of what is necessary to attain success in the future.

Fortunately, there’s now a reliable way for moms to #CompleteTheMissingHalf of their kids’ intelligence development by giving them Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro which is scientifically proven to develop not just IQ but also EQ. Home Credit, Citi ink social financing facility to expand Filipinos’ access to mobile services, to support women

Leading global consumer finance company Home Credit has inked a P420 million (8.2 million USD) social financing facility with the country’s largest foreign bank Citi to further promote greater financial inclusion in the Philippines.

This loan agreement of Home Credit Philippines (HC Consumer Finance Philippines, Inc.) with Citi (Citibank N.A. – Philippine Branch) is expected to support purchases of mobile devices in the Philippines, about half of it would be for women. This also enables them to access features of a digital device such as online banking, tracking financial progress, installing productivity apps for their business, among others.

Borrowers can apply for a loan at Home Credit Philippines’ thousands of partners. They can also apply for a loan through Home Credit’s App.

Seated L-R: Fernando Fleury, Citibank Corporate Banking Head; Zdenek Jankovsky, HCPH Corporate Treasurer and Chief Business Development Officer; Ajay Paul, Citibank Global Subsidiaries Group Head

“This loan facility is a continuation of a deliberate strategy at Home Credit to pursue innovative and sustainable funding options for our business. Empowering our customers to live better lives is a core part of our approach. This loan is another example of how we are working to deliver sustainable, responsible financial services and products in developing markets,” said Jean Lafontaine, Head of Funding, M&A and Investor Relations, Home Credit Group

Borrowing at the “point-of-sale” as offered by Home Credit is the first experience many Filipinos have of any kind of credit. This inclusive loan is especially targeted at women, who comprise around 50% of Home Credit’s total borrowers.

“Today’s announcement marks an exciting new chapter in Home Credit’s story in the Philippines. I am proud that the measured KPIs of the loan will be particularly beneficial to our female customers. The combination of safe access to responsible financial services and digital technology has the potential to have a transformative effect for Filipinos across the country,” said David Minol, President and Chief Executive Officer of Home Credit Philippines.

The facility is a social loan which qualifies under the “S” of both company’s approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). It will be monitored every quarter through a certification detailing the “mobile-point of sale” portfolio for key performance indicators (KPIs) including the number of new digital devices (including smartphones) financed and percentage of female borrowers.

“Supporting basic digital infrastructure is a tenet of Citi’s approach to social financing in emerging economies. Through Citi’s first social finance facility we would like to give more Filipinos safe access to affordable financial services to grow their business, and in this way affirm our commitment to the country as we celebrate our 120th year in the Philippines,” said Citi Philippines CEO Aftab Ahmed.

This transaction contributes to Citi’s $1 trillion commitment to sustainable finance by 2030, specifically supporting the social finance criteria of economic inclusion, which is to improve access to credit and financial services in vulnerable or underserved communities, including micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) financing. It will also generate employment opportunities as well as improve public spaces and community resources.

Something BIG is happening at The Big Dome!

Four of the biggest South Korean acts are slated to visit Manila for “Begin Again: KPOP Edition” taking place on May 29, 2022, 5 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Fans are sure to have a blast with NCT DREAM, SHINee’s KEY, WEi, and ALICE performing their latest hit songs on the Philippine stage.

NCT DREAM will be headlining the show, coming on the heels of their widely successful album “Glitch Mode.” Released last March, NCT DREAM has recently wrapped promotions after selling an impressive 2 million albums. This makes them a double million-seller for two consecutive years—a feat only a handful of groups have achieved.

Seemingly a magnet for historic achievements, NCT DREAM is set to tick another one on its checklist. Back in 2020, the group is the last to hold a live concert in the Philippines before COVID-19 lockdown. Now, they’ll be one of the first international artists to perform live again after two years. Needless to say, NCT DREAM is making dreams come true with their return to the country.

Performing alongside the group is labelmate KEY, lead dancer, and lead rapper of SHINee. In 2018, KEY made his solo debut with the single “Forever Yours,” which he quickly followed up with a full studio album titled “Face.” The album peaked at number 5 on Korea’s Gaon Chart and snagged a top 10 entry on the US World Albums Chart.

September last year, KEY released his first mini-album “Bad Love,” which earned him another top entry on the Gaon Chart. The titular track also enjoyed commercial and critical success with its Music Core win and The Ringer naming it the Best KPOP Song of 2021.

WEi, a six-member boy group from OUI Entertainment, is also joining in the fun. Though only debuting 2 years ago, the group is no stranger to the limelight. Members DAE HYEON, DONG HAN, YONG HA, YO HAN, SEOK HWA, and JUN SEO have different charms, and as a fourth-generation youth icon, WEi is loved by domestic and international fans.

In March of this year, the group released their fourth mini-album “Love Pt.1: First Love” with “Too Bad” as the main title. The album sold more than 100,000 copies and placed at number five on Korea’s Gaon Chart.

Last but definitely not the least is ALICE, consisting of members EJ, Do-A, Chaejeong, Yeonjae, Yukyung, Sohee, and Karin. In 2018, the group was named the Best Rookie Group at the 24th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards. Fresh off the May 4 release of their latest single “Power of Love,” these fearsome femmes are ready to wow on the stage.

The 2-hour concert marks the first live KPOP show in the country since the COVID-19 lockdown. Don’t miss this historic event and come see talented artists on one stage.
