Arctic Moon in Manila

Arctic Moon is one of the most exciting producers in today’s current trance scene. Recently voted in at #177 in the 2011 DJ Mag Poll he is not only a highly talented, respected and loved producer but an entertaining and exciting DJ set to take the next decade by storm.
Hailing from Poland his musical journey began during his childhood when he became fascinated by electronic dance music at an early age. He spent 3 years learning step by step how to produce music and also spent this time experimenting with different sounds until he found the one he was passionate about. In 2007 he decided that Trance was indeed his one true music love and it was then he focused on creating euphoric and uplifting Trance music encompassing elements of classical music, new age, chill out and even rock music.

As the years progressed so has the quality of his music and indeed his international profile. His name is now synonymous with labels such as the massive “Armada Music” and indeed Aly& Fila’s world famous“Future Sound of Egypt Recordings”. It was on FSOE that recent singles “True Romance” and “Adelaide” were released with both tracks topping download charts, gaining a massive amount of radio plays and huge gig support from a high number of top DJs.

The success of his productions lead to him receiving a lot of requests from some of the Worlds top Djs for remixes. Already in his short but successful career he has remixed for 4 Time #1 Dj, Armin Van Buuren remixing his track “Coming Home” for the recent Remix version of his last artist album. Added to Armin Van Buuren he also has remixed Aly& Fila’s massive vocal track “It Will Be OK”, Dash Berlin’s massive single “Till the Sky Falls Down” and “Vast Vision – Ambrosia”while other remix work has featured on labels such as Blue Soho, Arisa Audio and more.

As already touched on his work is heavily supported by an always growing and endless list of the Trance DJ Elite inc. names such as Aly& Fila, Bryan Kearney, Roger Shah, Dash Berlin, Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buuren who included not one but FOUR Arctic Moon Productions/Remixes in the “A State Of Trance Year Mix 2011”. Included were his own track “Adelaide” plus his remixes of “Armin Van Buuren – Coming Home”,“Ahmed Romel – Only For You(Arctic Moon Remix)”,Matt Bukovski – Delight(Arctic Moon Remix)” and “Aly& Fila ft Catherine Crowe – It Will Be Ok(Arctic Moon Remix)”.

Gig wise 2011 set a strong platform for 2012 with Arctic Moon travelling all over his native Poland to perform as well taking to the skies and travelling to and playing in countries such as Spain, Holland, Czech Republic, Singapore, Italy and Egypt. With gigs already confirmed in 2012 in some of these countries once again plus his debuts in Slovakia and Argentina it is set to be another successful year both gig wise and production wise.

Trance Till Dawn History:

The Trance 'Til Dawn (TTD) Family is a group of young, loyal enthusiast of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) from Manila, Philippines with a passion to Dance.  We are promoting a healthy family of honorable clubbers and ravers.  We serve as an advocate of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. Music is our weapon against ignorance.  Everyday is a celebration of passion and unorthodox friendship

Basically, TTD was formed by a small group of eccentric individuals who met at a Bigfish party back in 2009. The friendship turned out to be a fruitful one, each of them having a passion for Trance music, dancing, and making friends.  They threw the best house parties there is in their sub-culture of ravers, and as time passed by, things evolved. The two people who were the "iPod hoggers" eventually learned music formally in the form of DJing. While another individual just so happened to be immersed in the club scene and had the right rapport with the people in the business, while the rest had the undeniable energy that turn heads.  Then come 3 years later, TTD was approached by the only club that plays non-commercial electronic dance music, which is TIME in Manila, and they were basically given a playground to their own thing.  At first they were under Driven Manila, but after some months, grew to be an independent host at the club.

Our nights used to be called Afterdark, then when we became an independent group, we held an event called Transit, because we Transitioning to a new stage of us being an events group.  We then settle to United Under Dance for our branding name.

The restored version of the multi-awarded Filipino classic “Oro, Plata, Mata” by Peque Gallaga open 2012 Cinema One Originals Film Festival

It was a pleasure and honor to witnessed the restored version of Filipino classic 1982 multi awarded film "Oro, Plata, Mata" by Peque Gallaga and Jose Javier Reyes as this year’s opening of Cinema One Originals Film Festival at the Robinsons Galleria Movie World, November 28.

The film was set in the Philippine province of Negros during World War II,  about how a rich family copes with the war and how the people change amidst violence and death. It tells the story of a family who is scared to be involved in the war and decided to go to the woods but as the longer they stay there the nearer they get to danger.

"Oro, Plata, Mata" means Gold, Silver and Death.

The screenplay of the 1982 film was written by Jose Javier Reyes with cinematography by acclaimed cinematographer Rody Lacap.
The film cast includes Cherie Gil, Sandy Andolong, Ronnie Lazaro, Joel Torre, Liza Lorena,   Manny Ojeda, Fides Cuyugan-Asencio, Mitch Valdes, Lorli Villanueva, Abbo dela Cruz, Kuh Ledesma as "Diwata", Manny Castaneda, and Mary Walter. It won the 1982 Gawad Urian awards for Best picture, direction, cinematography, production design, musical score, and sound. In the same year, it won the Luna Awards of the Film Academy of the Philippines for Production Design and for Best Supporting Actress (Liza Lorena).
“The script, by Jose Javier Reyes, is so thematically dense that a single interpretation is probably insufficient to discuss what the movie is really about. One could say, at the very least, that the film is about irrevocable change, how one can never really go back to happier times, once you’ve been touched by war. It’s about inevitable decay: gold, silver, death. It’s about the country, and how we’ve come to this point,” wrote Philbert Ortiz Dy in a review.

“Oro, Plata, Mata has much to offer you. It’s the kind of film that gives you more and more to chew on the more you watch it. It’s an almost frighteningly rich film experience, one that shouldn’t be missed by any Filipino film devotee,” he added.
This marks the first showing of the restored version of the film. The restoration was made possible through a partnership between ABS-CBN Film Archives headed by Leo Katigbak and Central Digital Lab, Inc. It is the second film restored after Ishmael Bernal’s “Himala” in time for its 30th anniversary.
“Oro, Plata, Mata” is considered as Gallaga’s most significant contribution to Philippine cinema. This is the timeless classic at the opening of the 8th Cinema One Originals this November 28 (Wednesday) at the Robinson’s Galleria Movie World. The festival's opening event started at 6:00 p.m.
The 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival will run from November 28 to December 9 at Robinson’s Galleria Movie World and from November 29 to December 4 at the Edsa Shangri-La Cineplex. The festival’s much awaited awards night will be held on December 3 at the Studio 1, ABS-CBN Main Building.

The 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival is an annual project of the Cinema One, the local movie channel on cable, owned and operated by Creative Programs, Inc (CPI).
