DOTC : MCIAA Donates P 2-Million to Earthquake Victims

Airport Back to 100% Normal Operations One Day After Temblor

Following the aftermath of Tuesday’s temblor, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) has decided to donate P 2-Million to the victims of the earthquake in the provinces of Cebu and Bohol out of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget.

The MCIAA Board of Directors met yesterday, 17 October 2013, and approved the release of P 1-Million each to the Provincial Governments of Cebu and Bohol as financial assistance for use in their relief operations.

“I commend MCIAA for this generous act at this critical time, and I hope this inspires others to help out as well. I personally visited our kababayans in these areas over the past two days and saw the difficulties they are going through. It is good for them to be reassured that government is here to help them,” said Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya.

The MCIAA also reported to the DOTC that the Cebu airport has been back to 100% 24-hour normal operations since the day after the earthquake hit, or on 16 October 2013. This confirmation dispels certain false and irresponsible text messages which have been circulated, claiming that the runway was badly damaged and that the airport was closed.

According to the MCIAA, the runway was closed for only 20 minutes right after the temblor hit, in order to allow the Runway Inspection Team to conduct an immediate technical inspection of the runway and taxiway integrity. Having been found to be safe, the runway was reopened for flight operations.

Meanwhile, the passenger terminal building (PTB) was evacuated and closed for around three-and-a-half hours on 15 October 2013 as structural integrity was assessed. No major damages were detected, as minor damages such as cracks were non-structural in nature. Passenger and cargo processing were returned to the PTB from separate buildings by around noon of the same day.

The riding public is advised to remain on alert and to follow any public announcements that may be broadcast at the airport. Should there be a need to evacuate, they should follow the guidance of airport personnel and head to the nearest exits. The MCIAA is appealing for calm and sobriety as aftershocks occur.

The MCIAA reaffirms its commitment to provide the highest level of airport services possible with safety first on its mind, in line with the DOTC’s priority of ensuring passenger safety and convenience.

Asian Secrets to give you the most luxurious and relaxing treatments

Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub is a beauty treatment inspired by the most luxurious Javanese ritual called Lulur. Asian Secrets has different variants of body soaps and lulur scrubs to beautify, smoothen and whiten the skin.
Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub is a beauty treatment inspired by the most luxurious Javanese ritual called Lulur. The ritual was originally intended for the bride-to-be in order to beautify, smoothen, and whiten her skin before her wedding day.

Lulur originated from the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia and products inspired by this traditional treatment are still used by Indonesian women today.

The Asian Secrets Whitening Spa is now introducing a more luxurious way to whitening. The spa just opened last July 11, 2013 and has now made the Lulur Whitening Ritual available to everyone. The Javanese Lulur, a 300-year-old royal purifying ritual, was once exclusively used by brides-to-be from the royalty, 40 days before their wedding day. Javanese princesses were treated with the Lulur ritual everyday to whiten and smoothen their skin so that they will be most attractive especially on their most awaited day. This royal Javanese ritual became a tradition passed down through generations, and has now been enjoyed as a purifying indulgence by men and women.

This privilege can now be enjoyed at the Asian Secrets Whitening Spa as a whitening and relaxing experience.
One of the best ways to keep your skin young and attractive is to regularly get a body scrub. Body scrubs improve skin complexion as it polishes the skin and removes dead skin cells. However, you should be careful that the body scrub you use will not be harsh to your skin. Unlike the jagged edges of many body scrubs, the Asian Secrets scrub has spherical beads that gently roll over the skin when applied. This gentle exfoliation leaves your skin smooth and supple without being abrasive to your skin.
The Asian Secrets Whitening Spa specializes in whitening body scrub services. The therapists have been professionally trained in the Lulur dry scrubbing method that effectively yet gently exfoliates the skin. Moreover, the spa’s ritual has been developed to target body areas prone to darkening, giving the skin an even-toned and whiter glow.

A signature massage service is also offered for individuals who want to relax and unwind. Unlike the typical massage, which uses massage oils, the Asian Secrets Whitening Spa uses its signature whitening body lotion to hydrate and whiten the skin. Its signature massage also consists of the spa’s signature body strokes that are targeted to relieve stress and rejuvenate the body. The spa also offers whitening body wrap services for those who want to fully indulge and whiten their skin.

The spa highly recommends its relaxing and whitening treatment packages where you can enjoy both the whitening body scrub and signature massage. This treatment starts with a total body exfoliation using the Lulur body scrub recipe. Traditional dry scrubbing is done using the spa’s signature sequence specifically made to effectively remove dead skin while also targeting areas prone to darkening. The Lulur scrub is followed by a warm bath while using the Asian Secrets Bengkoang Soap. The ritual is completed by the spa’s signature massage. This luxurious indulgence takes approximately 80 minutes. After the Lulur treatment, the skin immediately becomes soft, smooth and glowing.

Newest Service: Lulur Brightening Facials

Aside from this, Lulur whitening facials are now offered at the spa to beautifully brighten the complexion and to complete the whitening experience. One can choose from a range of facial services from express brightening facials, to facials with comedone extractions, and to facial services with infused lymphatic facial massage. These services not only bring back the glow of the skin, but also relieve stress buildup by relaxing tense facial muscles and by triggering lymphatic flow to cleanse the face of toxins.

Watch out for the first episode of “Bet On Your Baby” on Saturday with celebrity babies as first ever contestants

Watch out the first episode of “Bet On Your Baby” to see how it all plays out.
The first episode of the highly-anticipated game show “Bet On Your Baby” hosted by well-loved showbiz personality and hands-on mom Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo is finally taking to television screens this Saturday (Oct 19) with none other than three favorite Kapamilya stars and their babies as the show’s very first contestants.
Ai Ai delas Alas, Anthony Taberna and Benjie Paras, along with their babies, are set to take on the “Bet On Your Baby” stage. Along with their respective companions, the three will be taking on the three different rounds of the game show, namely the initial round, the puzzle round, and the jackpot round.
In the first round, Ai Ai, Tunying and Benjie will be asked to guess how things will turn out inside the “Baby Dome”, where their babies will be. Whoever guesses right will be rewarded with P10,000.

After that, the three celebrities will all look on as their babies dive into a pile of toys, slowly revealing a picture puzzle underneath. The first contestant to figure the puzzle out in the second round will proceed to the jackpot round.
