Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, the No.1 automotive brand in India launches Big 7 heavy-duty eco-diesel vehicles during the event last September 25 held at the Mega Tent in Libis, Quezon City.

Pilipinas Tadj unveiled two sedans -- The Tata Indigo Diesel sedan and the Tata Manza Aura Diesel sedan at its Tata Motors Big 7 launch.
Also launched at the same event were the Tata Indica Diesel, the hatchback equivalent of the Tata Indigo, both of which are perfect for fleet service with style and comfort to boot.

The Tata Vista Ignis Diesel, a diesel version of the Tata Manza; a new and improved Tata Xenon XT Diesel pickup in 4x4 and 4x2 versions; the Tata Super Ace “Big Boy”, a go-to vehicle for carrying heavy loads and the more nimble and zippy Tata Ace “Bata”.

The Tata Indigo Diesel is a Tata Motors bestseller because of its cost- and fuel efficiency. It looks great inside and out, boasts of spacious interiors and the brand’s signature chrome accentuated smiling grille and teardrop headlamps.

It is safety-oriented and family-friendly. Performance-wise, the 1.4 liter turbo diesel engine and independent suspension offer a maneuverable and smooth ride. The hatchback Tata Indica Diesel offers the same amenities, with a sportier look.

The Tata Manza Aura and Tata Vista Ignis join Tata’s family of diesel variants, offering similar style and dimensions as the petrol-run Manza and Vista with a cost-efficient and high-performing diesel touch. The Ignis and Aura have same high-class brake and suspension systems, classy interiors and looks, with better fuel mileage and heavy-duty eco-diesel performance.

The Tata Super Ace and Tata Ace mini trucks meanwhile are workhorses with multi-purpose bodies that can easily be customized for delivery or transport of various business needs.

The Tata Ace “Bata” is the best in its category for fuel efficiency with its efficient Diesel engine and a load capacity of 750kg. Best as a jeepney body variant, it can confidently brave both city and rural roads because of bigger tires, high ground clearance, independent suspension system with disc brakes and drum brakes for the front and rear, respectively. Safety is a big investment, so the Tata Ace has intrusion panels on the front doors, seat belts, and a crash-tested body from the front, roof and back. Various body configurations can be used on the Ace, as well as a 2 year or 36,000 km warranty is included in every purchase thus making it a very versatile investment.

The Tata Super Ace alias “Big Boy”, on the other hand, has more power to go places with a load capacity of 1 ton! Its strong chassis, independent suspension running on a 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine and a Load Conscious Reducing Valve (LRCV) makes this Big Boy ultra-versatile in fulfilling a wide range of functions for passenger carriage or delivery uses.

Perfect for longer trips, the Tata Super Ace “Big Boy” can also be fitted with various rear body configurations to suit your business needs.

As for the Tata Xenon XT, it is a more empowered workhorse with enhanced looks and capabilities. The 4X4 and 4X2 variants now has a sleeker console, adjustable seating, streamlined facilities, a stronger and tougher load body and has 150 PS of power, plus more Low End Torque at 223 Nm for power and acceleration.

Midea’s new wave of cooking redefines culinary adventures

Midea, known as one of the world’s largest producer of consumer appliances, its latest kitchen appliance line answers food preparation woes with all-new kitchen range.

Charles Zhang - Deputy General Manager Phillip Trapaga - General Manager Guest Chef Rob Pengson Joeben Gamatero II - Marketing Director and Jerry Zhao

A New Wave of Cooking aims to solve the food-preparation woes of Filipino households, to change the way you do things around the kitchen.

With the lifestyles of modern homemakers changing at a fast pace, lengthy and tedious meal preparations have become quite a challenge for champions of the household. In the kitchen, it is no longer just about how food is prepared—more importantly, it is about how fast and easy the task can be done.
Phillip Trapaga General Manager of Concepcion Midea Inc Philippines speaks at the launch of their New Wave of Cooking kichen appliance line.

During the product launch event, Phillip Trapaga, General Manager of Midea Philippines shared that
“while meal preparation appears to be such a mundane part of our daily tasks, it actually has considerable weight in our way of life because it affects how we manage our time and, more importantly, our health and well being.”

According to Trapaga, there are three essential factors that are considered when cooking: meal preparation, nutritional value, and cost. “Midea’s new kitchen range presents solutions for each of these,” he added.

A special guest during the event, Celebrity Chef Rob Pengson shared some insights about his ideal kitchen. He said, “A handy kitchen is composed of appliances that provide the best-tasting meals without compromising energy efficiency and affordability.”

Guest Chef Rob Pengson performs a live kitchen demonstration using Midea's latest line of kitchen appliances titled A New Wave of Cooking which aims.

“Most of the time, nutrition and affordability are sacrificed in favor of easier food preparation. But cooking is really more of an art. Once you’ve found the right tools, you can pretty much create whatever masterpiece you want without sacrificing quality. It is all about investing in the right kitchen partners,” he said.

Included in Midea’s newest kitchen line are the microwave oven, induction cooker, multi-cooker, rice cooker, and kettles.

Microwave meals for us low as P1

Leading Midea’s kitchen range is its all-new microwave ovens, which let people cook basic meals for as low as P1. These appliances save on electrical consumption, as it is twice as fast as a regular stove—making it friendlier to electricity bills.

“People often have misconceptions about microwave ovens—claiming that they blow-up electricity bills. But it is all about the quality and efficiency of your appliances,” Chef Rob Pengson said.

“Actually, you can cook using the microwave. In fact, microwaves can prepare meals that are just as nutritious (or even more) as the ones we prepare the traditional way,” he attested.

Midea’s microwave ovens are perfect for quick and easy-to-cook recipes that do not compromise nutritional value. Trapaga described, “Using our microwaves, you can get 10 percent less fat on your meals compared to frying. At the same time, they can prepare basic meals in as quick as 90 seconds.”

Midea microwaves also come with sleek silver-mirror finishes that can smarten the aesthetics of any kitchen.

Faster cooking time, lesser cost

The Midea induction cooker prepares food twice as fast compared to regular electrical stoves. In fact, it is equipped with double-coil technology that saves 37 percent on electrical consumption.

“With rising energy prices, electrical efficiency is a top priority of our kitchen line,” explained Trapaga.

Efficient brewing

Coffee and tea are breakfast staples for the Filipino. For this, Midea has a line of kettles, which save-up to 33 percent on power consumption, while heating twice as fast as regular kettles.

The smart way to cook rice

Another innovative product from the brand is its rice cooker. This product is equipped with smart sensors that automatically measure the ideal cooking time you need to get the perfect rice, no matter how much water you put.

“As you know, Filipinos have an unbreakable affinity with rice. What makes our rice cooker special is that it makes the grains bigger—making your rice more delicious,” Trapaga remarked.

Multiple-modes for cooking flexibility

One of Midea’s most promising appliances is the multi-cooker, which has 19 functions, 12 cooking modes, and 7 auxiliary functions that give modern homemakers the flexibility they need to prepare meals.

“As the manager of a household, you should never compromise when it comes to cooking. Whether it be your schedule, health, or budget, you can get the best by having the right kitchen appliances to help you,” Trapaga finished.

A No-Sting Approach to Good Oral Health

Good oral health begins and ends with brushing their teeth after meals. While this practice is commendable, sadly it is not enough. Food particles, especially those at the back of the teeth and in hard-to-reach areas, may remain lodged, causing a host of alarming oral health problems. These include halitosis (bad breath), gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontitis (a gum infection that damages soft tissue and the teeth’s bone support).

Regular use of mouthwash like OraCare, together with brushing and flossing, gives you a healthy mouth that can help you gain confidence.

Food particles that are not removed by regular brushing may be used as fuel by anaerobic bacteria (bad bacteria) so they can multiply. These bacteria may cause dental problems such as tartar, plaque, and cavities, among others. They also release gaseous elements called volatile sulfur compounds, which are identified as major sources of strong odors in the mouth.

In addition to brushing, most dentists recommend flossing as part of regular oral hygiene. Many also recommend the use of mouthwash, especially if there are problems with oral malodor. Despite these advisories, patients still fail to comply. There are several reasons for non-compliance and one of these may be because the alcohol-based mouthwash they use stings the mouth and leaves a strong aftertaste.

Fortunately, there is no-sting OraCare Mouthrinse, which is specially formulated with stabilized chlorine dioxide (ClO2) and purified water, for a more pleasurable gargling experience. It is an effective way of eliminating harmful bacteria and odor-causing compounds in the mouth.

Currently, OraCare is the only mouthwash brand available in leading drugstores and grocery stores nationwide that contains stabilized chlorine dioxide. While it delivers the same benefits as the alcohol-based variants such as killing bad bacteria, preventing plaque build-up and promoting healthy gums, OraCare’s ClO2 also neutralizes foul odor-causing compounds for a really clean mouth. Plus, as an added benefit, it does not stain teeth, even with regular use, unlike mouthrinses that contain chlorhexidine.

Don’t wait for symptoms of dental issues to arise before you take action. Include OraCare in your regular oral care regimen.

Aside from visiting the dentist twice a year and regular brushing and flossing, gargling with OraCare can help give you the exceptional oral health that you desire—a really clean mouth with really fresh breath, without the sting.

Made by Pascual Laboratories, OraCare Mouthrinse has three variants (Cool, Regular and Merrymint) and comes in 80mL, 250mL and 500mL sizes (except Merrymint).

It is available in major drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.

Epson, the number one Point-of-Sale (POS) printer manufacturer for the 5th year running

The world leader in print solutions, Epson has been named the number one Point-of-Sale (POS) printer manufacturer in Southeast Asia for the 5th year running.

This is according to the latest research results from International Data Corporation (IDC), the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets.

Over the past 5 years, Epson has dominated the market, with results in 2013 showing the print solution leader holding steady at 45% market share in the overall Southeast Asia POS printer market. This means that almost every other POS printer purchased in 2013 was an Epson printer.

While figures vary in every market, Epson maintains the lead in all markets where it has a presence. In Singapore, Epson holds 61% of the total market share, while in Indonesia, Epson holds 54% of the market for POS printers. In the Philippines and Malaysia Epson holds a 1-in-3 share with 37% and 33% respectively, and in Thailand, Epson holds 45% of the POS printer market.

“POS systems are the backbone of many businesses from F&B to retail and can have a very big impact on things like productivity, efficiency and overheads, which is why we put so much effort into creating the best, most user-intuitive systems we can, and the results show in this great honor we have received,” says Koichi Endo, Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia. “Being the number one POS printer for the past five years, however, does not mean we can rest on our laurels. We have a responsibility to our customers to live up to, and exceed their expectations. It is this dedication to innovation that has led to Epson being named Southeast Asia’s number one POS printers, and it continues to be a great honor.”

The strength of Epson’s POS printers – which has led to the past 5 years of being named Southeast Asia’s Number One POS Printer Brand – lies in the reliability of the systems coupled with a wide network of system integrators and top notch customer service and support. While Epson strives to meet and exceed their customers’ expectations it also ensures that its partners hold to the same high standard when dealing with their customers.

Achieving the number one market share position in Southeast Asia is a mark of Epson’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
