Artifacts, A New Bathroom Faucet Collection from Kohler, Puts a Personal Spin on Traditional Design

Inspired by classic design, the Artifacts collection looks timeless even in modern spaces, where its form and design offer a historic contrast that makes the collection all the more aesthetically-pleasing.

Coordinating spouts, handles and accessories from Kohler’s latest traditional faucet collection empower homeowners to curate a collected look all their own

The KOHLER Artifacts bathroom faucet collection brings a new level of personalization to the bath. Artifacts invites the homeowner to confidently select details that reflect a taste and style that is theirs alone by choosing from three spouts and three handles—all available in five finishes.

“There’s this undeniable thrill that comes with discovering a piece that resonates with your design aesthetic, whether it’s an antique uncovered at a salvage shop or a vintage treasure snatched up from your travels,” says Julie Kober, Kohler Faucets product manager. “Curating your own Artifacts faucet evokes that same feeling.”

And just as classic design sees a resurgence in kitchen and bath trends, the introduction of the Artifacts collection couldn’t be more timely.

Its Edwardian roots play well in traditional and transitional baths—even in modern spaces, where its timeless form offers an historic juxtaposition for a more eclectic aesthetic. Fifteen accessories, including a tumbler, soap dispenser and a toilet paper carriage make it easy to create a complete, cohesive look.

Artifacts’ design may embody all that is old world, but its digital experience is anything but. On kohler.com, homeowners and members of the trade can explore the collection’s design possibilities with a configurator tool that allows users to get a realistic visualization of how the different spouts, handles and finishes interplay from the comfort of their own home, whether its on a laptop, tablet or mobile device.

Faucet designs can then be shared through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. “Making the online shopping experience interactive not only better serves the consumer, but helps capture the essence of the collection and ignites inspiration for the space,” Kober says, which is especially important given recent findings from a Harris Interactive poll: 45 percent of those surveyed turn to their smartphones to research products, while 81 percent research on their PCs.

“While Artifacts reflects the growing trend in traditional design, it reflects the even bigger trend of empowering the consumer to create something truly her own—and Artifacts is right in line with both.”

How inclusive education benefits children with varying sets of needs

One World School helps children to be socially smart and compassionate individuals, while maintaining high standards for academics.
Curiosity runs wild in children. As they explore the world around them, they ask endless questions about people, places, situations and things they see. They have this sense of wonder that both rouses their imagination and engages all their five senses, eventually fueling their creativity.

One World School will be your partner in honing your child's potential with the school's extensive educational programs carefully planned for every child.

At this point in their children’s journey of discovery, parents and guardians must seize the opportunity to point out life lessons and values that could help shape the little ones’ character and moral foundation.

One World School Philippines help students find themselves and explore their potentials.

However, in modern families where both parents juggle being professionals and maintaining a household, they can only do so much to explain ideas and concepts so kids can see life a bit more clearly.

This is where inclusive education comes in.

One World School Philippines in Makati City offers a specialized curriculum that bolsters the curiosity of little minds and, at the same time, satisfies it. It is a place of learning that encourages lengthy exchanges between children and mentors and tailor-fits the lessons to the creative capability of every student that enters its doors.

The school offers programs from Preschool to Elementary where a specialized curriculum is given to each student. Specialized curriculums allow children to learn at their own pace while still growing with peers and friends who accept them as they are.

One World School Philippines help students find themselves and explore their potentials

In a learning environment that puts together specially trained teachers and children with wide-ranging sets of needs and capabilities—the gifted and talented, the average or typical learners, and children with mild, moderate, and significant special education needs—inclusive education can be beneficial to all.

One World School inspires and encourages its students to nurture lasting friendship among each other.

Let us count the ways:

• Early education on diversity. For many, differently abled individuals are just characters read in stories, people met during quick interactions, and strangers encountered every day. But for One World School students, these are the people they grow up and interact with every day. The early exposure to various types of personalities helps them break free of stereotypes, opening their minds to, and making them more tolerant of, variety and uniqueness in life.

• Development of social skills. Inclusive education gives typical children the opportunity to see and experience firsthand the things that trigger their curiosity, and may answer some of the why’s in their minds. Relating with children who seem different also creates a more empathetic nature. Thus, they tend to be more nurturing towards their peers as they understand the struggles and challenges the latter face.

• Formation of nurturing friendships. With understanding comes caring. This, in turn, helps inspire friendship among different types of personalities and cultivates a culture of compassion among them.

An acceptance of children from different sides of the spectrum develops respect and value for people as they are. This accepting environment can very well translate into how these children would eventually deal with individuals as future professionals.

• Saying “no” to bullying. Bullies have no place in the One World School, where students receive healthy emotional support. One of the most critical issues in school campuses today, bullying causes some children to suffer from long-term emotional traumas and psychological maladjustment. This shameful conduct is unheard of in the school as children are taught early on the importance of showing respect for peers and acceptance of everyone’s uniqueness.

• Provision of a holistic education. Developing socially smart and compassionate individuals is deemed as important as setting high standards for academics in One World School. The institution trains students to be the best versions of themselves as they study to become well-meaning members of society and compassionate individuals toward their peers and the people around them.

One World School offers a specialized curriculum that bolsters the curiosity of little minds.

Inclusive education may seem like a new and unfamiliar concept to most of us, but this fresh take on learning will certainly inspire future generations of Filipinos to be a more enlightened workforce and more compassionate employers and captains of industries. This early, let’s help our children develop a heart for others and a mind ready for the real world out there.

MOVIEGOERS of all ages express excitement with the horror-comedy film "Echorsis" after its official trailer was released online last week.

"Echorsis: Sabunutan Between Good and Evil," which features the triumvirate of comedian John Lapus, Callalily vocalist Kean Cipriano, and award-winning independent film actor Alex Medina, received overwhelming reviews from netizens who called the movie "one of the most awaited comedy flicks of the year." The film was directed by critically-acclaimed filmmaker Lemuel Lorca and was written by Jerry Gracio.

“Gusto kong mapanood ‘to! Trailer pa lang nakakatawa na. Good vibes lang! Ang bongga pa ng cast. Aabangan naming ‘to ng mga beki friends ko,” Facebook user Nathan Cruz remarked.

“Kahit may bagyo sa opening day, nood pa rin ako,” added Thio Tisado Pie.

The trailer, which has so far gone viral and received close to one million views, likewise attracted the straight crowd with some men even asking their girlfriends to watch the movie on their date.

“Must watch babe! Hahaha! Make some time for this movie babe please. Nakakatawa solid!” said Facebook user Christian Medina who is inviting his girlfriend.

Acceding to the persistent requests of netizens that the movie be shown in cinemas as soon as possible, the film produced by Chris Cahilig under Insight 360, is set to open on April 13 in theatres nationwide—a week ahead of its original schedule.

“There is a clamour for the movie to be shown earlier than its original April 20 play-date. We didn’t expect the public to be so excited to see it soon on the big screen,” said Cahilig.

“Echorsis,” a parody of the iconic horror film “The Exorcist,” revolves around a gigolo Carlo, played by Medina, who is possessed by a gay demon after he deceived his closeted gay lover Kristoff (Lapus). The task of exorcising the devil out of Medina’s character then falls on the lap of Father Nick, who is portrayed by Cipriano.

Legions of Facebook users tagged their friends on the movie’s trailer, saying how excited they are to see it. Some even invited friends to watch ‘Echorsis’ with them. Veteran director Wenn V. Deramas also showed interest in watching the film.
