Ayala Malls Market! Market! presents ‘Obras Filipinas’

In honor of the Philippines’ beauty showcased from the handiworks of local artisans, Ayala Malls Market! Market! presents “Obras Filipinas.”

Market! Market! is known for housing several themed bazaars, outlets, and bargain stores that guarantee goers a unique shopping experience. This year, it provides a home for the festive costumes made by promising and exceptional Filipino couturiers through Obras Filipinas.

The exhibit comprises three categories: Filipiniana, national costumes, and ethnic-inspired. Various outfits from different regions will be presented, tributing our history, culture, ethnic origins, and religious practices.

Moreover, this event coincides with the Buwan ng Wika celebration. Currently, held at the Market! Market! Activity Center in BGC, Taguig City until August 28.

Obras Filipinas is a gathering of local designers whose artistry parallels our colorful customs and traditions. At the moment, the festivity displays many fabric ensembles depicting authentic Filipino culture.

A peek at the 'Ating Kasuotan' exhibit

For instance, JP Chua's creation reimagines the scary image often expected from local folklore. She proved that a half-human and half-horse creature like Tikbalang could be an eerie but phenomenal clothing inspiration.

Likewise, Er Stephen Alvarado's version of the mythical Ibong Adarna is as colorful as its story and purpose. Not only does it pay homage to the beauty of the Mayon Volcano, but it's a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community.

In addition, some costumes in the exhibit adhere to the religious beliefs of Filipinos, like Marbin Garcia's "Queen Elena." According to the Bulakan, Bulacan native, it depicts the search for the cross of Christ and the creativity of the province's Singkaban Festival. The ensemble was hailed the Best in National Costume last Miss World Philippines 2022.

Meanwhile, it's a different feeling when our nostalgia comes to its physical form. One can reminisce childhood through the "Taho Warrior" ensemble made by designer Erjohn de la Serna. He also created "Hulya," worn by Julia Saubier, which won the award for Best in National Costume during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022.

Speaking of an award, Edwin Uy, known in the industry for his victorious pieces, will also parade some of his outstanding creations. He is exhibiting his Golden Philippine Eagle gown that clinched the title Best in National Costume at the Miss Global 2016.

The rest of Obras Filipinas’ featured designers are the following:

Unboxing the new Lumina Homes : A decade of building quality homes, a decade more of bringing well-deserved life to Filipinos

Meaningful endeavors leave a lasting mark as they bring deeper meaning into the lives of people and communities.

Such is evident in 50 key locations in the Philippines through Lumina Homes.

A decade ago, Lumina Homes started as a mass housing brand to one that provides a middle-income Filipino family’s ultimate dream home and the life they deserve. Amidst the challenges in housing, it further evolved as a partner in nation-building through quality and affordable developments in key locations in the Philippines.

Over the years, its efforts have been recognized by several organizations. For years, it has been named Top Developer by Pag-IBIG Fund, and, most recently, Best Affordable Housing Developer by Carousell.

Now, as it marks its 10th year with the theme ‘Stronger 10 and Now’, we are unboxing Lumina Homes’ new exciting surprises as it moves forward. Each one promises to nurture the Filipino family with a home and community features that they wish for — that they deserve.

Unbox bigger and better living spaces

The world is slowly reopening, enforcing the need for better, new-normal living spaces. Families simply deserve a comfortable home to live a purpose-filled life with or without a pandemic.

Lumina has started converting its home offering mix such that there will be more inventories for economic house and lots, which have bigger room provisions, wider spaces, and better ventilation. First among these are the Emery and Eliza models. These are upgraded bungalow homes with painted fence and steel frame gate, ready bedroom, ceramic tile flooring, and additional bathroom fixtures like a shower head and handheld bidet.

Lumina offers new bungalow models, Emery and Eliza

Unbox new connections with ‘eSpacio’

Located at the heart of Lumina, eSpacio is a place where supportive communities are born. This all-inclusive amenity center is a place to interact with other families, meet new friends, and create lasting relationships. It features Lumina’s signature amenities: a covered multi-purpose hall, mini garden, play area, jogging path, and new spaces for livelihood, entertainment, and recreation.

Espacio, all-encompassing amenity center found in Lumina communities

It also takes pride in a community center that can accommodate important premises such as the Health Center, Day Care Center, Senior Citizen Center, and Barangay Center. Residents no longer need to travel to the city hall to obtain some important documents or send toddlers to schools outside the subdivision.

Another highlight is eSpacio’s “Tambayan ni Juan,” which takes after the idea of night markets. In this al-fresco food hub, homeowners can set up kiosks and stalls to boost their entrepreneurial spirit. Once events are safe to take place, the tambayan will be a perfect spot for live performances and exhibits.

Unbox a healthier and greener lifestyle

The pandemic has reminded us that managing our physical, mental, and emotional health is a must—that families deserve to experience a healthy lifestyle.

A healthier and greener lifestyle blooms in Lumina, with its open spaces now featuring community gardens where homeowners can grow fruit-bearing plants, vegetables, and herbs. Through the wider roads within the community and improved open spaces, future Lumina Homes residents can fulfill their wellness goals without spending extra bucks or going far.

To further reduce its carbon footprint, Lumina has also installed solar-powered streetlights. These are found at recreational facilities, perimeter roads, gardens, walking paths, and entrances, making the common areas safer, especially on evenings when residents want to catch some fresh air.

Unbox a safer and more secure community

Filipino families deserve to be part of a community that prioritizes their safety and security. Therefore, Lumina has installed enhanced 24/7 roving security and CCTV cameras.

To help homeowners travel safely inside the village or to nearby establishments in the city, Lumina has placed shuttle services in areas accessible to all the residents.

Unbox faster and reliable home internet connectivity

Today, fast and reliable internet is a non-negotiable requirement in every home. From work and school, to obtaining the latest news or entertainment, everyone in the family needs it.

Thus, Lumina has partnered with Streamtech to ensure residents are provided with a reliable home internet connection through unlimited fiber internet. Streamtech promises quick installation time, which means that within 48 hours upon confirmation of subscription, it will deploy its technical team to install the internet, much faster than its competitors.

Unbox faster and more efficient client transactions

With Lumina, aspiring homeowners don’t have to worry about getting their dream home in the most convenient, new-normal way. It has partnered with national bank players like BDO, AUB, PNB, Security Bank, Unionbank, Maybank, and RCBC for secure, online transactions.

Homeseekers can easily search for their dream home through Lumina’s digital real-estate solutions. They can choose from virtual home and subdivision tours, book online appointments, and pay through digital wallets and digital banking.

Unboxing a new outlook on life

All these developments reflect their newly launched tagline, “The home you deserve.”

“Each of these promises to nurture the Filipino family with a home and community that they wish for — that they deserve. This is what we are building now. And there will always be more to look forward to in Lumina Homes as it continuously improves to serve homeowners better,” Estrellita Tan, Lumina Homes’ COO said as they marked their 10th-year anniversary.
Indeed, As Lumina Homes strives towards its next decades in the real estate industry, it proves that they are indeed the most viable option for middle-income house hunters for many reasons. For one, they do not only build affordable homes but also provide a well-deserved life within a community that prioritizes health, security, and safety.

On top of this, they provide homes that remind Filipinos of the kind of life they deserve—a balanced life where each member of the family can thrive.

MPIC was previously strong on real estate and property until it divested into infrastructure and tollways. But realizing the value that Filipinos have put on resort living, Pangilinan said MPIC is once again building up its presence in real estate development and tourism.

This further strengthens Landco Pacific which already has a strong track record in creating leisure and luxury home communities in the Philippines for more than 30 years. The evolution continues for Landco Pacific, backed by MPIC, one of the country’s biggest conglomerates.

Gloc-9 Has A New Propelling Single “Di Umiinom” Featuring Hero

Our Paboritong Makata moves along his lyrical journey with what will be his Pilak album, a musical celebration to mark his 25 illustrious years in the Philippine music industry.
Before the month of August ends, Gloc-9 unveils "Di Umiinom", the 5th single for this upcoming anniversary album and this time around, he shares limelight with Hero, another young buck in the Asintada Management's stable of talents.

Sometimes when someone gets badly hurt and reaches their breaking point, they tend to perform deeds that they don’t usually do, or haven’t done before. Perhaps that act is a coping mechanism to escape all the pain and sadness that they feel. That’s how the song “Di Umiinom” was formulated by the veteran rapper.

In this special track, he taps the rising hip-hop star Hero to further elevate the overall vibe with his technical bars and carefully honed rhymes. Their tandem’s verses are captivating, intoxicating, infused with gloom as they address the sad and painful story with utmost conviction. Truly, the theme of this song is something fresh and something that the one and only Makata Sa Pinas haven’t attempted in the past, a reason he is very much excited for this release. Moreover, Thyro Alfaro once again delivered the goods and provided awesome mixing and arrangement.

This special release comes alongside a vibrant music video directed and edited by Aaron Maagma. (WATCH HERE)

Since Gloc-9 embarked on a US tour for the OPM Summerfest events there along with other iconic local acts, he was no longer able to film his parts here in the Philippines. However, because of the sheer dedication to his craft, our Paboritong Makata found a way to deliver his parts for the music video, special thanks to Mark Escueta, who's band Rivermaya was in the concert series with him. They shot it during the New York leg of the tour using his trusty Samsung S22+ or in his own words “Para-paraan lang talaga.” On the other hand, Hero's parts were filmed at Tipsy Pig in Quezon City.

This is the third collaboration between the Gloc-9 and Hero, with the previous two garnering more than 1.2 million in YouTube viewership. "Di Umiinom" is now streaming on all digital platforms under Universal Records.
