Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, matched by fate, divided by time at 'My Future You', a movie for everyone this Christmas at the MMFF 2024

This Christmas season, gather your family, loved ones and friends as FranSeth's love team makes their big-screen debut this Christmas at the MMFF's golden anniversary

Celebrate love, family, and create your own destiny with 'My Future You,' Regal Entertainment's heartwarming romantic-family drama premiering on December 25, 2024, as an official entry to the golden anniversary celebration of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Starring Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, the film tells the story of two people connected by a mysterious comet and a dating app that bridges their timelines—2009 and 2024. Together, they attempt to rewrite the past to build a brighter future, but their choices lead to unforeseen consequences.

Joining FranSeth (as their love team is fondly called) is a stellar cast, including Almira Muhlach, Christian Vasquez, Peewee O’Hara, Bodjie Pascua, Mosang, Marcus Madrigal, Vance Larena, Izzy Canillo, Angelica Lao, with special participation by Alex Calleja and Donna Cariaga.

With its once-in-a-blue-moon Rated G classification from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), 'My Future You' is indeed the best choice for a feel-good, family-friendly movie this Christmas — perfect for viewers of all ages!

Official Synopsis

In 2009, Lex (Seth Fedelin) discovers a dating app that inexplicably links him to Karen (Francine Diaz) in 2024. As their connection deepens, Karen asks Lex to help her change moments from her past to prevent her parents’ separation. But every change brings unintended consequences, reshaping their lives in unpredictable ways. As they approach their final chance to fix everything, Lex and Karen must decide whether their love can withstand the forces of time.

Filmmaker's Vision: Parallel Journeys, One Destiny

Writer-director Crisanto B. Aquino, winner of Best Screenplay in MMFF 2019, shares the inspiration behind 'My Future You': While stuck in his apartment, a conversation with a friend sparked the idea: “What if two people, bored and lonely, connect through a random chat—only to discover they live in different timelines?”

Direk Cris describes the journey of creating the film as one of resilience and patience. The project evolved and grew over the years. Finally, in 2024, everything aligned for it to be brought to life with the emerging Kapamilya love team.

He reflects on FranSeth being part of this project, “May plano talaga ang Diyos sa lahat. Alam niya ang right timing. Tiwala lang at patience. (God really has a plan for everything. He knows the right timing. Just trust and have patience.)

"This movie taught me to believe in my work, my worth, and my talent.”

This rom-fam drama also showcases Aquino’s meticulous attention to detail in aligning the two timelines. Working closely with production designer Ericson Navarro and director of photography Jeyow Evangelista, Direk Cris ensured that while 2009 and 2024 were distinct in tone and design, their visual parallels reflected the characters’ shared journey toward love and purpose.

FranSeth’s First Film Together

'My Future You' marks the highly anticipated big-screen debut of the pairing of Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin. First captivating fans in the hit ABS-CBN teleserye Kadenang Ginto, the love team now brings their chemistry to a greater height, building expectations and challenges for the two.

Director Crisanto Aquino recalls being impressed by their professionalism and commitment to their roles. “From our first table read, I knew I had found my Karen and Lex. Their dedication and natural connection brought the story to life. It’s their time, and they didn’t disappoint.”

The pair’s natural charm and “kilig” moments are sure to delight their fans while staying humble to the emotional core of the film.

The Regal Legacy Continues

As part of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, Regal Entertainment Inc. upholds its legacy of delivering films that resonate deeply with Filipino audiences here and abroad. From classic dramas to groundbreaking festival entries, Regal has shaped generations of moviegoers and continues to do so with “My Future You.”

Executive producer Roselle Y. Monteverde reflects on the film’s message: “For decades, we’ve been part of your Christmas traditions—making you laugh, cry, and believe in love. ‘My Future You’ celebrates everything we hold dear: family, love, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. This is a perfect gift to all Filipinos.”

The film’s official theme song, Eliza Maturan’s “Museo,” perfectly captures the longing and magic of the story. It’s a film everyone can enjoy together with lessons to bring and discuss even after the credits roll. The story explores universal struggles tied together by a unique and magical concept.

As the writer-director puts it, “I hope the audience will realize how to value the people around them, especially their family and loved ones. Sometimes, we search so hard for love, not realizing it’s already there.”

Executive produced by Lily Y. Monteverde †, Roselle Y. Monteverde, and Keith Monteverde, Regal Entertainment's entry to this year's MMFF is in line with the heart of its legacy — beating strong as it embraces fresh, innovative storytelling.

This Christmas, gather your loved ones and rediscover the magic of connection, hope, and belonging. Catch 'My Future You' in cinemas nationwide starting December 25, 2024 and make this holiday season unforgettable and magical as always!

Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin star in the music video of Ace Banzuelo’s streaming hit “Muli”

The Gen Z superstars portray a romantic couple struggling to put their love back together
ABS-CBN stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin reunite onscreen for the music video of Ace Banzuelo’s chart-topping electronic ballad “Muli.”

The visual narrative captures the disintegration of what used to be a promising relationship, with ‘FranSeth’ struggling to process their pain.

Going the abstract route, the MV depicts an imagery of a home on the verge of breaking apart: burning couches, dying lights, and a smashed piano. Ace Banzuelo himself, makes a significant appearance as the ‘inner emotions’ of Seth.

“Everything was heavy on symbolism, but still reflects the intensity of the song,” says Chapters’ very own Jake Soriano, who directed the music video of “Muli.”

Soriano has worked with both Francine and Seth in the past, but according to him, this project was the first time that he witnessed the loveteam deliver a nuanced performance and showcase their range as dramatic thespians. “They’re easy to work with, because aside from being good actors, they’re also very kind and professional, and both are super funny. We always get a good laugh during shoots.”

For his part, Ace was very much involved in the brainstorming and creative process of the music video, and was very open in collaborating with Francine and Seth.

“At first, I was okay to do the music video alone with what I had, and then we started to get tweets, comments, and messages from multiple fans that they wanted to see me collaborate with local actors,” shares the young singer-songwriter and producer. “Our team reached out to the loveteam, and we were so happy that they were game! Working with Seth and Francine was super fun, I’m proud that we were able to capture the vision of song, and present it through the long-awaited video.”

Few hours before the premiere of the music video, FRANSETHxACE MULI MV immediately topped Twitter Philippines trending list at No. 1, with fans expressing their excitement on the teamup.

“Muli” has been the most streamed OPM song on Spotify and Apple Music for more than a month now. It continues to make an impact on several music charts worldwide, reaching No. 1 on Apple Music Viral Hits – Philippines, No. 2 on Spotify Top 50 – Philippines and Spotify Viral 50 – Philippines, No. 3 on Apple Music Top 100: Philippines, and No. 6 on Spotify Viral 50 – Global. “Muli” has also landed on Spotify Viral 50 charts in four other territories: UAE, Singapore, Canada, and New Zealand, making it one of the biggest crossover hits that came out in the country this year.

Ace Banzuelo’s “Muli” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch the music video here.

I
n celebration of the Philippines’ 124th Independence Day,
the country’s number one fast-food chain, Jollibee, sparked hope and #JOYngPinoy through the youth with a new campaign music video featuring a rendition of the OPM classic “Awit ng Kabataan.”

"We celebrate this year's Philippine Independence Day by looking toward the future of our country and amplifying their voices," said Arline Adeva, Jollibee Philippines’ Assistant Vice President and Head of Brand PR, Engagement, and Digital Marketing. "In our Joy ng Pinoy video, we want to show how the Filipino youth express their love for country – from using their skills to help their communities, being proud of their world-class talents, or by simply sharing a meal with their loved ones and making the people around them smile with their youthful spirit."

Teen star Francine Diaz, as well as rising artists Adie and Alex Bruce headline the music video as they represent the voices of today’s youth and encourage every Filipino to proclaim why they are proud to be Pinoy. In less than a week, the video gained over 20 million combined views in Facebook and YouTube.

Teen rapper Alex Bruce raps about different positive traits of Pinoy youth

“Despite it being released even before I was born, this song’s message of hope is definitely something I can relate to and it plays an important role in shaping society,” Alex said.

Actress, model, and endorser Francine Diaz feels happy and proud
to represent the voices of the youth

For Francine, the song is all about loving being Filipino. “[The song calls on all of us] na bumalik ang pagmamahal nila sa pagiging Pinoy at maging proud sila na Pinoy ako! Pinoy tayo!”

Being part of Jollibee’s Independence Day campaign, Francine feels proud that she was able to use her voice to remind everyone–especially her peers in this new generation–that it’s important to love the Philippines and embrace being Filipinos. "Sobrang nakakatuwa at nakakataba ng puso na masali ako sa special project na 'to ng Jollibee. Pag nagche-check po ako ng social media ko, nakikita ko na ganitong [karaming tao] na pala yung naaabot ko, hanggang dito pala kilala nila ako. Ito yung right time to use my voice in the right way," she said.
Singer-songwriter Adie sings about Pinoys’ courage to face challenges

Adie also shares the same sentiment. “Honestly, I’m so proud na kasama ako sa project na ito–especially because the music video sends a message for every Filipino to appreciate our country and share our joy of being Filipinos through art, through community service, and our culture,” he said.

With Jollibee amplifying the voices of this generation and allowing them to express themselves through its latest campaign, the brand hopes that more of the youth will be inspired to express what “Joy ng Pinoy” means to them.

Francine Diaz—Cherry Mobile’s newest ambassador

Hella heart eyes for the new G
Cherry Mobile is back with exciting surprises! With the recent launch of its 5G series comes a new and fresh face: Francine Diaz—Cherry Mobile’s newest ambassador.

Francine is undeniably one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation. Reaping back-to-back endorsements and projects one after another, this is indeed her time.

THE MAKING OF A YOUNG STAR

While the young actress ultimately shot to fame because of her character in 2018, her journey to stardom was nowhere near a walk in the park. Prior to claiming a spot under the limelight, Chin, as what her fans and friends would call her, has known the value of perseverance her whole life—giving her best in every opportunity that comes her way.

Her life-altering launch may have been a loose product of fate but her growing fanbase and mushrooming projects are all thanks to her demeanor and work attitude. Contrary to the glitz and glamour of her industry, Chin remains grounded and as real as one gets.

BEHIND THE CURTAIN

Francine is popular to the crowd of her day as the quintessential fun-loving and unapologetically real teenager whom a lot of them found relatable—"a breath of fresh air” as they would describe.

As the young actress recently turned 18, her goals are still focused on improving her craft, like the true-blue professional that she is. Her outlook and discipline are rather impressive, showing beyond doubt that she is wise beyond her years.

DOING MORE WITH 5G WITH CHERRY MOBILE

On her launch as Cherry Mobile ambassador, Chin shares how eager she is to work with the brand which she literally grew up to, “Nung bata po ako, napapaligiran po ako ng Cherry Mobile users. Natatandaan ko po, lagi kong hinihiram yung sa lola ko kasi yung mga pinsan ko po, naka Cherry Mobile din po sila. Bawal pa po kasi akong mag-cellphone ‘nun. Pero ngayon, hindi ko akalain na magiging ambassador pa ko ng Cherry Mobile, kaya sobrang akong na-excite!” she cheerfully narrates. Apart from getting her hands on her first Cherry Mobile phone, Chin also shares the excitement of working alongside her industry heroes, “I am so happy to be part of a powerful lineup of women--Ms. Anne, Ms. Heart, and Ms. Kim. I look up to them from how they value their work and their family to their sense of fashion.”

Cherry Mobile and its new celebrity endorser are much the same. Both having to face industry giants as they started, the determination to move in harmony with the fast-paced world is the common denominator that keeps the two afloat.

“Francine embodies the young, passionate, and self-driven market. Even at the height of her career where she is expected to revel in the limelight, she remains unassuming yet forward-looking. These are the same characteristics that help Cherry Mobile thrive many years after its catapult,” says Michelle Ngu-Cinco, Chief Operating Officer (COO), CHERRY.

Francine further shares how much she’s enjoying her Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro 5G. This device is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-Core Mediatek Dimensity 700 and is ideal for non-stop usage with 5,000mAh battery capacity. Plus, it features a 48MP Quad AI Camera and 16MP camera so you can step up your photography game anytime you’re feeling camera-ready. All this and more for only, P7,999.
